How to change the pollen filters on a Range Rover P38

Pollen filters are an often overlooked part of a service, but the filters are cheap and easy to replace on a P38 Range Rover.

There are two pollen filters on the Range Rover, one on each side. Outside air is drawn through them by the blower motors which supply the air to the vents on the dash.

They cost about £5 each, and can be changed in under 5 minutes with the aid of a screwdriver. This is how you do it.

Changing the pollen filters on a Range Rover

1: The photo below shows you the location of the two pollen filters.

2: Unscrew the retaining screws, and remove the cover. The old filter will be showing.

3: Pull the old filter out, and remove any loose debris/leaves from the pollen filter box.

4: Slide the new pollen filter in the same way as you withdrew the old filter.

5: Replace the cover and screws. Now repeat on the other side!

Yes, thats it, it really is that simple. For a job that is so simple to do, it is very often overlooked.

Just look at the state of my filters – they had been in there a long time!
