Here’s the latest addition to the Land Rover Blog, a nice 300tdi Land Rover Discovery.
I bought this one from a friend, and its pretty clean to be honest. Its a 1996 model with 109,000 mile on the clock. Its had some welding in the past in the usual Discovery rust areas, but the majority of it is pretty solid and should be able to be preserved with copious amounts of Waxoyl.
This Discovery is a true poverty spec Landy! No metallic paint, no sunroofs, no air con! I am guessing it might have come with steel wheels too, with the alloy wheels having been added later by a previous owner!
In true Land Rover fashion, it has already had me underneath the thing sorting out a few little jobs here and there. One the first things I have purchased is an EGR removal kit, which I will fit shortly. I have a few other ideas for the Land Rover, but generally I will be keeping it pretty standard.
So look out for forthcoming blog posts in the next couple of weeks, as I get to grips with the Discovery
