To Hel and Back

To Hel and BackToday I want to introduce you to another website I have been following over the past few weeks.

Two lads from Buckinghamshire, Tom Picton and Carl James, are driving from England to Die Hel near Cape Town in South Africa, then attempting to drive back home again. Its a journey that is taking them through 40 countries, 30,000 miles and 2 continents - all in the aid of charity.

Their choice of vehicle, as you would expect for such a trip, is a 300Tdi Land Rover 110. Getting the vehicle sorted for the trip has proved eventful according to their website To Hel and Back.

On their website you will find plenty of information on kitting out a vehicle for overland travel as well as info on the route they are taking through Africa.

The charities that the guys are raising money for are Link Ethiopia and the Alzheimer’s Research Trust. Judging by the media page, they have had a load of support from many companies - which is great to see - and they have already raised over £3000.

I wish Tom and Carl the best of luck! They set off a couple of weeks ago, and are currently near Tripoli in Libya. I am going to be following all their updates with interest - well done guys!
