Land Rover Timing Belts

Land Rover Discovery Timing BeltsThe timing belt is used to drive the fuel injection pump and camshaft via a drive gear on the crank.

Land Rover recommend changing your cambelt (timing belt) every 72,000 miles or 6 years (whichever is sooner).

Many people choose to renew the belt at much shorter intervals, because if they snap then you will have all manner of expensive problems to fix in your engine!

If you own a TD5, then you can rest in peace knowing that you don't have a timing belt - you have a timing chain, and these don't need replacing!
